TERRAIN

 

This piece is based off of an abstract painting entitled “Terrain” painted by Oscar Gauthier, 1954. The painting uses muted colors, but the brush strokes are energetic and highly textured. I interpreted the idea of terrain as what I have seen when looking out the window of an airplane. From above everything looks fantastical.
